     Madonna set the bar high for pop music in the 80s. Her live performance were and still are provocative and boundary-pushing. This year, Madonna launches her global “Celebration” Tour, highlighting her hits from every era of her career and we anticipate a plethora of '80s gems to be performed. So, in anticipation of her upcoming live shows we take a look back at some of her unforgettable performances from the decade that launched her into super stardom...and as Madonna quite plainly says in her hit song "Into The Groove,"  - "...and you can dance for inspiration."

Who says time goes by so slowly? It was 17 years ago this week that Madonna landed atop the UK Albums chart for the ninth time in her career, an achievement which occurred while she was also kicking off her second week at the top of the UK Singles chart for the 11^th time.

The global icon recently appeared on an episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to promote her upcoming remix compilation Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones. While there she did a classroom instrument performance of her dance classic "Music" with The Roots and Jimmy Fallon, showed off her custom birthday grillz (Happy Birthday Madonna!) and revealed what almost killed her career.

37 years ago, the global jukebox came alive in London and Philadelphia as the epic charity concert known as Live Aid took place. Its goal: to feed the world.
