By the year 1986, Huey Lewis and the News were bigger than big. The band's third studio album, Sports (1983), was an international smash, spinning off hits like "The Heart of Rock and Roll" and "I Want a New Drug." In 1985, the act shot even higher with Back to the Future single, "The Power of Love," which peaked at #1.

When the group returned with fourth album, Fore, on August 20, 1986, it was more of the same: big hits that rocked the radio and MTV with a vengeance. The album's first single, "Stuck with You," rolled all the way to #1 for the week of September 20, 1986, holding the top spot for three weeks straight.

The second single from Fore, "Hip to Be Square," peaked at #3 for the week of December 6, 1986. The #1 song in America that week: Amy Grant and Peter Cetera's "The Next Time I Fall."

The third time proved to be a charm with the third single from the record, "Jacob's Ladder," which hit #1 for the week of March 14, 1987.

Huey Lewis and company scored one more hit single out of Fore with "Doing It All for My Baby." The tune made it all the way to #6 on the Hot 100 for the week of September 18, 1987. The #1 song in America that week: Michael Jackson and Siedah Garret's "I Just Can't Stop Loving You."
