'80s music lovers are going to be dazzled by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2022 nominations, announced today (Feb. 2). Ten of the 17 nominees - including six of the seven first-time nominees - all have deep ties as '80s hitmakers.

The ballot includes first-time nods for Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton and Carly Simon, as well as recurring nominations for Pat Benatar, Eurythmics and Dionne Warwick (their second nod); Kate Bush, Devo and Judas Priest (their third).

Other first time nominees include alt-rock giant Beck and rappers Eminem and A Tribe Called Quest. The list is rounded out by pioneers in punk and metal (New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, MC5) and world music (Fela Kuti).
Once again, fans can participate in a daily fan vote open now. The final list of inductees will be announced in May, with a public ceremony to take place this fall.
