Don't think too hard about this: it's 40 years since it was 1981. The second full year of the '80s was packed with plenty of great music - and the Totally 80s Podcast is here to dive into it all over the next few episodes!

This time, Lyndsey Parker and John Hughes are joined by Scott T. Sterling, a prolific writer who's been published by Billboard, Rolling Stone and NPR - not to mention a contributor to this very site! Lyndsey's West Coast upbringing and John and Scott's Midwestern adolescences made for some unique '80s listening experiences, and the resultant chat is nothing short of awesome, with plenty of discussions on Duran Duran's debut, The Human League's Dare and the birth of MTV - and maybe even some fun stories about the bands all three used to play in back in '81!
