Poison frontman Bret Michaels and Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx have a long and checkered past. About ten years ago, the two were embroiled in a public (albeit somewhat one-sided) feud. Ultimately, Michaels would take the high road, and the two have made peace to the point that their bands, along with Def Leppard, will embark on a massive stadium tour this year (fingers crossed).

With the nation dealing with "social distancing" amidst the current COVID-19 pandemic, the two rockers seem to share a common thought: the media needs to dial things down.
“Wouldn’t it be great to see people stop self promoting right now and turn towards friends and family instead?” Sixx wrote on Instagram. “Reach out to people around you who might be scared or need help. Also, do we really need more fear mongering? The news is doing a great job at that already… maybe find a way to dampen down the hysteria.”
The Poison singer used social media to explain why he was canceling his appearance on The '80s Cruise this month. After detailing how his diabetic status would put him at acute risk in such a situation, Micheals added a caveat: "I promise you I try to get the real facts, and do not buy into media frenzy hyper pandemic, but this is a serious virus with little information so far on what you can do if you're in a high-risk category or any category."
