As the co-founder and guitarist of Echo and The Bunnymen, Will Sergeant helped spread a dazzling post-punk guitar style all over the pop charts of England in the '80s. Now, he's telling his story with a newly-announced memoir.

The aptly-titled Bunnyman will chronicle Sergeant's upbringing in post-WWII Liverpool, England, and how the burgeoning punk scene gave him a much-needed sense of community. In 1978, he, singer Ian McCullogh and bassist Les Pattinson formed Echo and The Bunnymen, with drummer Pete de Freitas joining in time for acclaimed debut Crocodiles in 1981. The band's output through the '80s remains some of the most beloved alternative rock of its time, with "The Cutter" and "The Killing Moon" reaching the U.K. Top 10 and singles like "Bring on the Dancing Horses" and "Lips Like Sugar" becoming cult hits on U.S. radio.

After a brief period of discord and inactivity in the '90s, Echo and The Bunnymen reunited in 1997 and are still going, with Sergeant and McCullogh most recently recording an album of orchestral re-workings of the band's favorites entitled The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon in 2018.

Bunnyman is available July 15 from Little, Brown.
