It's a sad day in the Totally '80s universe with the news that Tony Lewis, singer and bass player of the Outfield, has died. He was just 62 years old. He died "suddenly and unexpectedly" today near London, according to a statement from publicist Bari Lieberman. The cause of death has not been revealed.

"It is with great sadness and sorrow to announce that Tony Lewis has unexpectedly passed away," was the message shared on Lewis' social media. "He was a beautiful soul who touched so many lives with his love, his spirit, and his music. He loved his fans dearly and enjoyed every opportunity he had when meeting all of you."

The Outfield was best known for the band's signature hit single, "Your Love," which peaked at #6 on the Hot 100 over the week of May 10, 1986.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 35 years Carol, daughters Gemma and Rosie and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by bandmate John Spinks, who died of liver cancer in 2014 at age 60.
