Songwriter Adam Schlesinger, known for his work with Fountains of Wayne, has been hospitalized due to the coronavirus, but is not in a medically induced coma, as suggested on a fan page.
Schlesinger's long-time attorney Josh Grier confirmed the news to Rolling Stone, sharing that although he is unable to visit the "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" producer as "he's very sick and is heavily sedated, as are all people on ventilators, but no one has used the word 'coma' to me."
The 52-year-old is on a ventilator at a hospital in upstate New York, where he has been receiving treatment for over a week. Schlesinger co-founded Fountains of Wayne with Chris Collingwood, who shared a statement from Schlesinger's family detailing he is "receiving excellent care, his condition is improving, and we are cautiously optimistic."
